General Tools To Get Started
How this project is being built
This project brings together writing, visual design, gameplay, streaming, and archival organization, which naturally means using more than one tool. What follows is a curated list of the primary tools used throughout the project, along with a brief note on how each one fits into the workflow. Some of these tools I’ve been using for decades, while others are newer additions that I continue to learn and refine as the project evolves.
Tool selection was guided by a few core principles. Wherever possible, I chose options that allow me to work across multiple devices, including my desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone. This flexibility is important for a long-term project and allows progress to continue even when I’m away from my primary workstation. To support reliability, working documents are also backed up locally to ensure access during internet outages and to avoid unnecessary slowdowns.
There is intentional overlap in some areas. For example, Adobe Photoshop and Canva are both used for visual work. Photoshop is relied on for detailed image creation, templates, and document-style graphics, while Canva is used for quick, efficient production of thumbnails and video screens where speed matters more than deep customization.
This toolset may evolve over time, but changes will be documented as they occur to preserve a clear record of how the archive is built.
